Welcome to Churches Together in Eastcote
Eastcote Blessing.
Lord, pour out your blessings upon the people of Eastcote,
On those who live here, on those who run businesses or provide services,
And on those who come here each day.
May this be a place where all can walk without fear, in safety and security.
May this be a place where all are open to the needs of others,
Where the hungry are fed, the lonely find company,
Where enemies are reconciled and strangers become friends.

Prayers
Lord God our Father, we thank you today for the invention of Braille which has brought benefits to so many, and has enabled blind people to make an important contribution to our communities, for which we are grateful. We thank you for your Holy Spirit which brings us strength and determination in the face of challenges, and we ask that all who are disadvantaged or different in any way may be fully welcomed and valued in our world.
Lord God our Father, just as Braille brings together separate dots to create meaning, may we as individuals seek to find meaning in our relationships and connections with others, offering and accepting support, enjoyment and understanding. May we see Christ in the face of the Other.
Lord God our Father, may our churches seek to build connections with one another through joint mission, joint worship and bonds of friendship. May we find ways of connecting with our local communities, so that the presence of the living Christ may be revealed in Eastcote. We ask for your blessing upon the work of Churches Together in Eastcote and upon all who support it.
Lord God our Father, we put ourselves in your hands. You formed us and you know us. Guided by your love, may our hands do your work wherever we go.
Lord, in the face of the many challenges besetting our brothers and sisters across the world, we turn to you in faith and hope, knowing that, with you, everything is possible. We pray for a new heart and a new mind for leaders and for an end to war, violence and hostility. We pray for action to combat climate change, poverty and injustice. We ask for the insight to know how we can play a part, however small, in helping to make your kingdom come.
AMEN
Together we are stronger. Together we can support and encourage one another. Whenever we meet, as we are meeting today, we know that Christ is with us. May we always be open to meeting Christ in our friends in Eastcote.
